It would be an interesting thing to get one of the great masters here on earth today - a little like in "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" - and see what they thought of art and graphic design in 2012.
Imagine going back in time and grabbing Da Vinci, Michaelangelo, Picasso, Rembrandt or Van Gogh, and dropping them into the Met in New York, or the Louvre in Paris. Of course, in some areas and wings they would feel like they were back in their own studio, but what about modern art and graphic design? But let's take them to Pixar or Dreamworks, or any of the great graphic design houses today - would they think it was still art? WOuld they truly appreciate it?
Of course, as the old saying goes, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", and "One man's meat is another man's poison." To bastardise Pilates famous line… "What is… art?"
